Notes: The Miro Lounge in Barcelona's new Terminal 1 is by our account, almost fantastic. We were welcomed by a friendly agent who promptly checked us in and pointed out a couple of the lounges features. By normal international business/first class lounge standards, food choices were lacking but far better than anything you'll ever find in a US domestic lounge.

The Joan Miro lounge is a 3rd party lounge, meaning it is not managed by any airline or alliance. However, almost all business/first classes have access to it, as well as Star Alliance Gold members. I believe, based on the sign out front, every alliance member with status has access to this lounge, as well as Priority Pass members.

Located in the non-Schengen part of Barcelona El Prat Airport Terminal 1 (D/E Gates), Sala VIP Joan Miro is the default lounge for almost all eligible passengers departing from this area. This is usually bad news since airport operated lounges are often poorly run and designed, however this one left me pleasantly surprised.

25 May 2023 Named after the famous Spanish painter, this business class lounge is available to customers at Barcelona El Prat Airport travelling to non-Schengen destinations from Terminal 1. As this lounge is after passport control it is only open to those travelling from gates D and E.

The lounge is also known as the AENA Miró Lounge according to the British Airways website. Other airlines that offer access to this lounge include OneWorld alliance members American, Qatar, Royal Jordanian, Iberia, LATAM, & S7. Star Alliance & Skyteam were also part of the massive list on the sign near the entrance.

Shang Aug 21, 2022 The Save My Cents just recently returned from our babymoon to Barcelona for our second child! As part of the flight back, we were able to enjoy a visit to the Sala VIP Miro Lounge. The lounge beat our expectations and helped the two hours we had up to boarding time pass by very quickly.
